EP EXCLUSIVE: INTERVIEW WITH UPCOMING ACTOR MAYOR EZENWA AS HE TALKS MOVIES AND A WHOLE LOT MORE

On the 15th, we caught up with fast rising actor and Nollywood sensation Mayor Ezenwa and we had a little chat on his new rise to fame, do's and dont's and so much more.

EP; Please introduce yourself to the fans out there.

Mayor : My name is Mayor Ezenwa.

EP: How did movies start for you, what was the turning point to join nollywood?



Mayor: I never had in mind of joining movie industry, but my best friend SB young Eze was the one that forced me to join... I started acting when I escorted him to a location where he was shooting a movie... Then when we got there the director was thinking that I was into movie too.. Then the director gave me a rule and my best friend told me that I can do it... But I was so scared of facing the camera... But my best friend was at the back of the camera telling me that I can do it but the director never knew that I have never acted before...in that movie I acted almost 15 scenes ...so I was happy and after the job another director collected my number for me to come and work for him in his own job so since then I started acting. I see movie as my occupation now and am enjoying it.

EP: You obviously are a rave upcoming actor with several movies to your name, we hear of sometimes oppression or bullying in the movie industry by senior colleagues, how true is this and have you ever had any encounter?

Mayor: Movie industry is not really easy but with God you can make it.... As an upcoming actor you need to calm down and have it in mind that you are ready to respect your senior colleagues. You need to work hard and make sure that you deliver a role that was giving to you.

EP: Nudity is becoming a part and parcel of the industry, what is your take on this and can you act nude?

Mayor: No I can not act nude because It's against my faith as a Christian...

EP:  have you had any embarrassing moment on set?

Mayor: Yes, When I was working for Zea world production, I have been shooting with them but the day that the Executive Producer was there to watch me act, I can't even take my lines again.... I was so confused because I don't know what was wrong with me... It was so embarrassing on that day..

EP: You have acted in various movies, can u give us some of your favorite ones and how many movies you have featured in?

Mayor: I can't remember them but all I know is that I have featured in many movies, but I can list some of them for you.

EP: Please kindly do.

Mayor: The Jacobs, the casket, police academy, Barnabas, chidinwam my only child , sweety my love, street hunters, blood and rape , sex with a thief,galaxy babes , ije Barty,....

EP: you are a tall dark handsome man, how do you deal with your female fans especially Owerri fans?

Mayor: am a simple man by nature and i live a jovial life to both male and female. no much attachment to my female fans.

EP: any new projects on the way?

Mayor: Yes, many that i have done that i have not seen.

EP: The females will like this one, is Mayor Ezenwa single and searching or already taking?

Mayor: Am still single and searching.

EP: Any word of advice for aspiring actors?

Mayor: Yes that they should work hard and be loyal , focus and give acting their time that they will make it...
