Activities took a different turn on Tuesday, when touts attacked lawmakers in the Kogi state house of assembly, resulting in various injuries been inflicted on some members of the house. The speaker, Alhaji Imam Umar narrowly escaped the attacks but some where not so lucky. Properties within the environment where also destroyed which included cars owned by the lawmakers. According to the speaker of the Kogi state house of assembly,
"We have been witnessing crises in assemblies but it had always been in-house, but this one coming from outsiders makes it news, the hoodlums came in and took over in the presence of the policemen.“The business of the day was carried out with the assurances from the commissioner of police but the hoodlums had a free day in the presence of the policemen.”The governor of the state, Gov. Yahaya Bello has also warned that rascality would not be condoned in the state.
