The Senator representing Kogi West, senator Dino Melaye would be heading to court on the 1st of March 2018 for charges of false accusation about an assassination attempt on his life he leveled against Chief of Staff to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Mr. Edward Onoja David April of 2017. During an investigation carried
out by the police, it was discovered that his accusations where false. In a second count, the Senator was also accused of making a phone call to the son of the late former Governor of Kogi state, Abubakar Audu of how he framed Mr. Edward Onoja David.
