10 WAYS TO MAKE MONEY ONLINE

Ever wondered how easy it is to make money online, how the likes of Linda Ikeji, Laila, Jide of ogbongeblog, and so on make their money online, a place where the average Nigerian frequents probably every day. Well i would list 10 possible ways you can make money digitally (by online presence) in this post.

  • Blogging: It is no news that bloggers are making serious money, by just writing a post but in most cases in Nigeria, copying a post. From Linada Ikeji, Laila Ijeoma, Jide, Unilag Olodo and so on make their money from blogging. Linda Ikeji left her budding modelling career to become a blogger and now has her own multimedia company, Laila Ijeoma left her bank job to become a full time blogger, and now has a huge following where she is cashing out everyday. I guess you are wondering what the big deal of having a blog is? well i am here to tel what you need to know and how to get started. To start of your own blog is really easy, you first just have to have internet connection, a laptop or a smart phone, and some really good stories to share or just jump on another site, copy their contents and you might just get lucky. Most especially if you have a large following on Facebook, then you should seriously start considering having your own blog. With platforms like Blogger or Wordpress, you can set up a blog easily, and also get free hosting, in other words you do not have to pay a dime to get your blog to be viewed all over the world, unless of course you want to upgrade. Now to the good part, you can monetize your blog and start making money by subscribing to ad agencies such as Google adsense, Popads, Chikita and so on, the list is seemingly endless. If for instance you get approved by Google's adsense, for every time a user clicks on your ad you can get a sum of  $0.05 of course it could be higher or lower depending on the amount the advertiser is willing to pay. Imagine in a day, 100 people click on your ad, that is $5 for that day just posting random things, that is pretty low but lets assume your blog gets so big and you are then getting about 1000 clicks a day, that is $50, multiply that by 30 and you are getting $1500 you can calculate how much that is in naira. Not forgetting of course that you can also charge people or companies for advertising or promoting their products.

  • Social media influencer: We all have one social account or the other, be it Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Whats app, .... and so on. You can actually make money from these accounts by becoming a social media influencer. Firstly you would have to have a strong following, post funny, witty, or societal conscious posts that would get people's attention, you could consciously just be a controversial person and you will probably get the attention you need even if it is negative. The next step would be to get the attention of certain brands, you could speak out for a certain group of people, talk about good products to use and you just might get the attention of that company. Most times you don't even have to do much, bloggers, musicians can actually contact you and pay you for you to promote their products on your page. imagine you have 100k followers on Twitter, you will probably get calls from these people.

  • Social media comedian: Another good way to make money online is to be a Social media comedian. If you are funny, love making skits and so on, then you should try this one. All you have to do is constantly make funny videos, share funny posts and you are a step a way from being one. From the likes of Mark Angel comedy featuring Emmanuella,  Joshtoofunny and so on these guys started this way and now they are cashing to the bank. Even Kenny black started with video skits and now he is a stand up comedy, on of the best in the country. I even have a school mate who is one and he is doing pretty well.

  • Online boutique: If you are interested in selling of clothes, bags, shoes, etc you don't have to wait for a physical location to start off, you can easily open an online account and start marketing your products to your audience.

  • Graphics designing:  If you are a good graphics designer, you can sign up on platforms such as Fiver, Freelancer, Upwork and so on. There you can get gigs, jobs where you can do for people, get paid all via those platforms. No need for any interaction what so ever. You can even join a Facebook group, Naija Graphics Designers and there you can showcase your products and get paid.

  • Web designer/developer:  If you are into building of websites, then i should not tell you how easy it is for you to get a job online. All you need is an online presence, have a business website, have a Facebook page and you are good to go.

  • Vlogger:  Vlogging is similar to blogging, but this time instead of writing your posts, you make videos of them and put online. Youtube is a very good platform where you can share your videos. All you have to do is create your own channel which is very easy by the way, making videos, get a lot of people to subscribe to your channel and then ad google ads just the same way you will ad to a blog. Just ask Toke Makinwa if it paid her, because from my end it surely did.

  • Data seller:  Selling of data is becoming a very common and lucrative business for a lot of Nigerian youths. Basically, you buy data in large bulks from Telecoms Service Providers such as MTN and sell at a cheap rate to your customers. You can check here for a more detailed post on this.

  • Webinars: A Webinar is a seminar that is conducted over the internet. With the likes of Facebook, Instagram having live recording sessions, you can easily gather a group of people, set a date for a live session, charge a fee for interested participants to pay and then conduct the seminar over the internet.

  • Online recruitment agency:  I know this sounds weird, but how do you think most recruiting firms get qualified candidates for a job by one of their partners, well over the internet. You do not expect them to always put up a job vacancy online or what have you, they can easily do it by getting into your LinkedIn account, check your skill set and send you a mail. You too can be your own recruitment firm with the right packaging that is. If you have the right connections to companies, vacancies and so on, you can start that off. Get interested people for a job, you could even get them to pay you money on training and so on.
