Edo state Governor, Goodwin Obaseki is really serious to turn things around for Edo state. It was reported that on monday he met with top investors such as executives representing Mitsubishi, Sojitz, Toyota, Sumitomo, Yamaha, Yokogawa, Panasonic and the Japanese Trade Organisation (JETRO) to plan potential investments in Edo state. He assured them of the resources needed and also adequate
labour force. In recent times, Edo state has developed a database for youths in the state and they have been promised jobs by the state. This seems to be one way the Governor plans to fulfill such promises as he told his investors that a database of already unemployed youths have been created. The
Governor has even visited churches and urged their members who are unemployed to drop their details with the church. During his meeting with the investors, he further explained how the state was rich with natural resources such as Limestone that are hugely deposited in the North of the state,
while Edo south and central was blessed with fertile soil for cash crops like Maize,Cassava,rubber and palm oil. The Governor has been seriously working since he resumed office; it is safe to say that he does has the people at heart.
