The Nigerian female basketball team D'Tigress claimed the FIBA Women Afrobasket title after they defeated Senegal in the finals 65-48. This makes it the third time that D'Tigress would win the
title as they did so back in 2003 and 2005. Senegal placed second while Mali came third in the competition.
