Uber is being sued by a David Riordan, after he was attcked by an Uber driver who used the Uber app to locate the passengers house and assault him, causing injury in his brain, a fractured left orbital,concussion and a dislocated jaw with nerve injury.
According to him, the incident took place on the 18th of December 2016 when he was assaulted by an Uber driver by the name of Munstr Abuseimi who kicked him out of his car. He later ordered another Uber to his house but on getting there, Munstr Abuseimi was right there waiting for him and attacked him with a metal rod.
According to TMZ, David Riordan is suing Uber because he thinks the company is prioritizing profits over rider safety by not sufficiently screening its drivers. He feels the company should properly screen their drivers before giving them the go ahead to be drivers. The case is different in Nigeria as Uber drivers in Lagos have been attacked by passengers, with one even strangled to death by two passengers.
