The year 2017 was filled with a lot of dramas, from the beef between Wizkid, Davido and Tekno, to Toto Dikeh,s marriage crash and a host of others, we at EP have compiled a list of the scandals that rocked the year.
- Mercy Aigbe's fight with husband: Yoruba actress, Mercy Aigbe had a messy fight with her husband Lanre Gentry that found its way to social media, showing all the ugliness that exist in an abuse marriage filled with accusations of infidelity from both parties. She shared bloody pictures of the result of an encounter she had with her husband once.
- Tonto Dikeh's split from her husband: Another celebrity who had her own share of divorce tale and accusations of infidelity and abuse was Tonto Dikeh. She had a messy fight with her husband Oladunni Churchill after accusations that he cheated on her with a Nollywood actress and his PA Rosaline Meure. The actress went as far as calling her mother in law a witch via a text message that got leaked online. No one knows who is telling the truth between the duo as both parties have claimed that the domestic violence came from the other side.
- Dammy Krane's credit card theft: Nigerian musician Dammy Krane suffered a major scandal when he was arrested by Tap Jets, a Plane company for using stolen credit card information to book his flights. His name was later cleared from the drama after being charged to court.
- P-Squre's Split: The Okoye brothers where at it this year again after a brief problem they had back in 2016 that most thought was already settled, but resurfaced itself this year. The brothers, Peter, Paul and Jude have parted ways and P-square is now a defunct or should i use deprecated music group. Peter stands alone in the split as Paul and Jude are still working together.
- Burna Boy's arrest: Burna Boy was arrested in the later part of 2017 for his involvement in the Eko hotel robbery where Mr 2kay was the victim. According to the police, the robbers who committed the crime alleged that Burna Boy and his manager paid them to do so. Burna Boy was later invited to the police station but avoided it for a long time before later adhering to their invitation. He was released on bail after spending a day at the station.
- Wizkid,Davido and Tekno's twitter drama: Its no news that Wizkid, and Davido have been at logger heads in the past, and they did not hesitate to carry the beef over to 2017. Wizkid and Davido where involved in a series of shading drama that saw Tekno have his own share as soon as he put his tweet on the issue. It all started when Davido claimed that his sound was the best and all other sounds where not good, Wizkid responded by calling him a frog voice while Tekno's innocent tweet which stated that soon they will see who the real star is got him called a duck face by Wizkid. Its all good now as the beef is finally over and the trio have reunited.
- Wizkid and Davido's crew clash in Dubai: Another scandal that took place in the year involving Wizkid and Daivido again but this time it happened offshore in Dubai. Tekno was in the center of the Drama as well. It all started when Tekno got punched in the face by Sunday Are, Wizkid's manager. Davido was having none of that and it lead to a major fall out between them.
