TOP TEN BIGGEST ARTISTS OF 2017


Here at EP, we are giving a break down of the top ten biggest artist who made wave n 2017. Remember that this list is in no particular order. So brace yourself as we compile it up.




  1. Wizkkid: Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid definitely had one of the best 2017 in the Nigerian music industry. He had a massive international campaign which saw him feature with the biggest A-list American artist such as Chris Brown, Drake, Future and a host of others. He also clinched a lot of international awards such as a Billboard award and even got a nomination in the Grammy's due to the fact that he was featured on Drake's successful hit music, One Dance.

  2. Davido: David Adedeji Adeleke, AKA Davido also had a major 2017. He got signed to RCA, an international record label just like his counterpart Wizkid, featured on international records and had a successful International tour, probably one of the best tours of 2017. Davido's hard work has seen him dominate the music scene in Nigeria, and also garnering a lot of fans all over Africa for himself. 
  3. Tekno: No doubt Tekno has grown in recent years in the music industry, and 2017 proved him to be a worthy artist to play with the big boys. He got an endorsement deal from Pepsi, got signed to RCA as well, and most recently has been seen hanging out with international super star Drake. 
  4. Tiwa Savage: Tiwa Savage, or you can call her Queen Tiwa proved to us this year that she is still the queen of pop music in Nigeria. She as well has had a good year with a lot of International recognition, for one she recently got signed to Jay z's record label Roc Nation. She has also dropped a lot of hits this year, Ma Lo ft Wizkid is one of them. She has had a great 2017.
  5. FalzTheBadGuy: AKA Falz, whose real name is Folarin Falana, no doubt had his best year so far during 2017. He made major hits such as Something Light ft Ycee, had a successful end of year concert, featured on a host of songs and also dropped a surprise album , 27. 2017 was definetly a good year for Falz.
  6. Simi: Simisola Ogunleye is no doubt a damsel in the Nigerian music industry, you can call her a rare gem. She has proven that you don't have to be an Afro pop artist or dance-hall artist for Nigerians to love and appreciate your music. 2017 saw Simi grow into the star she is, as well her showing a lot of confidence in her art. She won the award as the African Songwriter of the year at the AFRIMA awards for her album Simisola. She had one of the best and most successful album for the year 2017, Simisola.
  7. Mr Eazi: Mr Eazi, real name Oluwatosin Ajibade had but a successful and controversial year. He had international influence for the year 2017, holding a concert in London and getting a lot of airplay at UK radio stations. He was quoted for saying that Ghana music has greatly influenced Nigerian music, a statement his Nigerian fans were not to happy with.
  8. Banky W: Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W took a break from the music scene in 2017 but that didn't still stop him from making waves and headlines and also cashing to the bank. He hosted all One Africa Music Fest concerts, dropped an album and also had the most stunning celebrity wedding for the year. 
  9. Olamide: Olamide Adedeji had a pretty good year as well, he had a great show, released one of the hottest tracks in the country, WO and also featured in quite a number of songs as well. 
  10. Reekado Banks: Marvin artist Reekado Banks keeps getting better as the years go by. Real name Ayoleyi Solomon, he had major hit songs, most recently being Like ft Tiwa Savage.He had a successful home coming show at Ibadan and according to him the  attendance was 11,000 people.
