Thailand has just legalized the use of Marijuana for medical purposes while the drug still remains illegal for recreational purposes. This decision was made by a vote by their parliament. According to Lawmaker Somchai Sawangkarn "The amendment (on the Narcotics Bill) was passed the second and third readings today. And will become effective once it is published on the Royal Gazette". Thailand is now the first country in the southeast of Asia to legalize Marijuana for medical purposes.
