Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa has been crowned miss Universe. The 26 year old who seemed to be graduating on that day as well was crowned in Atlanta. Tunzi who has a passion for empowering women said this during the contest:
I grew up in a world where a woman who looks like me, with my kind of skin and kind of hair, was never considered to be beautiful
The two runner ups for the crown where Miss Mexico and Miss Puerto Rico. The competition was hosted at the newly opened Tyler Perry studios in Atlanta.
